Dr Jennifer Gomborone - Clinical Advisor
Jennifer Gomborone is a consultant chartered psychologist working in the department of Liaison Psychiatry and General Adult Psychiatry at the Princess Grace Hospital. Her out-patient practice is based at the London Medical Centre. She is also an honorary senior research Fellow in the Centre for Gastroenterology, within the Institute of Cell and Molecular Science, Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry.
After graduating with a degree in psychology from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York, she moved to London and completed her postgraduate degree in cognitive neuropsychology and her PhD in psycho-physiological gastroenterology at the University of London and St. Bartholomew’s Medical School.
During her career as a psychologist she has also completed her training in clinical hypnosis, EMDR (eye movement desensitisation reprocessing), cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling, introduction to group analysis, NLP and time lines.
She is currently training to be a cognitive analytic therapist (CAT) at St. Thomas’ Hospital. Her clinical and research interests are irritable bowel syndrome, post viral chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety and depressive disorders. She also works as a co-therapist in the management of a variety of relationship and family issues.
